Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, addiction, anxiety, or major life changes? There comes a time when help is needed from a certified professional to cope with many of life’s challenges.

I utilize a blended therapy approach, which draws on a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each individual client.

It takes courage, vulnerability and honesty to enter into a counseling relationship.  The change journey can be frightening, but you do not have to walk it alone.  I partner with, motivate and empower you on your journey of change.  Let’s walk this journey together.

What To Expect At Your Visit

Learn About My Methods

I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and caretaker alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.  You can expect to experience a range of emotions as you work through challenges.  But you will receive the necessary support as you process.

FAQ's

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Most private insurances are accepted, leaving persons having to cover their copay unless there is a deductible that must be met. Sliding scale fees are offered to those who do not have private insurance.  I am on the panel for numerous EAP's (employee assistance programs) as well.

How long does each therapy session take?

The average counseling session lasts 45-50 minutes.

How often do we meet?

Initially, we will meet either weekly or biweekly.   If you are going through a really tough time, we may need to meet more often. Together, we will figure out what will be most fitting for you.

How long does "the therapeutic process" take?

The therapeutic process varies from person to person; therefore, there is no firm guideline established on the time frame of healing.  The important thing is to take the necessary amount of time for yourself to thoroughly heal.  Also, very important is your readiness level for change.  The more open, honest and receptive a person is to implementing new ideas can influence how swiftly one heals.  We will work together to determine the appropriate number of sessions for your particular circumstance.

Isn't counseling for "crazy or weak people?"

Just the opposite.  It take great courage, wisdom and strength to participate in the therapeutic process.  It is considered wise to seek professional medical assistance when they are in great PHYSICAL pain  --  and yet there is still deep shame associated with the need to seek professional assistance for deep EMOTIONAL pain.  However, it is equally as wise to do so. We have all been counselors to some degree, even if it is not your profession.  We are human and in need of human connection.  There is nothing wrong with needing a hand to hold as we heal though some of life's difficulties.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Scheduling an appointment is easy.  Feel free to contact me via email or by phone.  I will send a link that includes all of the necessary forms that need to be electronically completed.  From there, we will find a time that works for the both of us.
